Renee Rhodes and Mauve? Gallery
About the show:
In the spirit of expeditions and explorations of days gone by, this is an account of embodied surveys and journeys through places that we increasingly discover and know without ever leaving home. You know, remotely or through a digital interface. Through choreographic maps, a piece of choreography for camera and associated artifacts we follow three women as they move through spaces and times situated on the disorienting edge between reality and virtuality. They explore methodologies for movement as a mapping technology — a technology that can imaginatively inscribe a physical memory of landscape upon our overly Google-earthed understandings of the places that we inhabit or explore.
