One more post for the day…
So today was hot - to escape the heat, unlike most who went to the SFMOMA, I hung about at the print studio, then Boarders - to totally avoid my heat soaked flat. There is a cafe on the second floor that looks out onto Union Square that I like. Not because of the people, or the chairs, but because of the view, coffee loaded with cream and magazine racks within eyesight.
Since starting to see friends of mine in recent publications, I have gotten to be obsessed with checking them all for people I know, or have heard of so that I can sit and brew over how I can be happy for other people as well as overcome by jealousy.

From West St. Paul, I have to say, I love your statement, I loved it so much I should have wrote it down. But here goes, this is what I remember the gist being, ” I make paintings from things that i find depressing, and then they are not all that depressing anymore.” Again, I AM SO SO VERY SORRY for re-wording this, but I had to blog about how wonderful it was to read among all formal statements about this and that, all properly and formally written. This is not to say that Carolyn’s statement was not proper - just delightfully unexpected and honest. It made me re-think why I even do things.
