Does anyone have a hard time with communication via technology? I have a hard time with communication in like all aspects of my life. I once believed that I would rather do communication via skype than in person, for various reasons, like time and expense etc…, but as of late, there the complications I have had as a result of talking with someone over the phone, chat or email have been devastating and humorous. Anyway, I am now starting to get why people are so against technology for being the basis of communication.
A few side notes:
I went to a straight dance club for the first time on Saturday night. This was very interesting and suprisingly fun for several reasons. First, I didn’t know that I could agree with every song a dj played. Second, I can dance without making other’s laugh when sober. (this was a challenge, but I think if I was trying really hard, I was able to blend in and not be noticed, which…) Thirdly, made it really easy and fun to people watch. I was even bought a drink, for the first time by a dude named TOM. Let me tell you about TOM.
At this point, I was really broke and wanted just to be bought a drink so I could go back to dancing with Lila a little less self aware.Tom’s pick-up line was, “What is your favorite football team?”
I replied, “Here is the deal. I will name three football teams, if you name three of your favorite artists.” I tried to explain to him that not only did I not know a thing about football, but I also did not really care to.
"Didn’t you go to football games, in like, high school?" Well, TOM, to be honest, not really. I bet I went to a few, but only to flirt with boys, and dress in EP colors while chatting with my girlfriends over who was making out with who, etc. But by my second year of high school, I was so shy that forcing myself to attend games was more torturous than spending Saturday nights with my mother. So my mother and I would watch Stargate re-runs and eat coffee ice cream as our escape from our conservative community. Which, TOM I was/am totally cool with.
So I named my three teams, Vikings (duh), Packers (second, duh), and I forgot the last one, but I think I got all three. And then came the rough part, “Tom, so can you name three artists?”
"Well, to be honest, I only really like to talk about football…"

Luca and I are putting a show together for Mauve? Gallery in November. It is called From Here to There. I made this little drawing while waiting for Luca to confirm he was not mad at me over gchat. In the end it turned out to all be a big misunderstanding.
