Breaking My Spell
I got word last week that Michelle Morby, long time friend and all around wonderful, had walked the Reykjavik Marathon on August 20th, 2011. The project team are as follows…

Melkorka Helgadóttir http://korkaart.wordpress.com/

& Kirk Wilder (who I don’t know personally, and could not find a website for… please forgive me, I tried)
To be honest, I was totally jealous of the project and the team, and wish I was able/invited to go. Michelle assembled the best team I could have imagined, and spent the month of August in Reykjavik. I have not had a chance to catch up with her, since she arrived back in the states, but from the BMS website and Korka’s Blog, I have the suspicion that the walk went as planned… Brilliantly. When Michelle first told me about the project, I honestly thought there was no way that she could do it. I mean, I make little drawings about things that I should have said, but this project seemed to me to be so massive that only someone like Matthew Barney could pull it off. But here we are, seeing the documentation, and realizing that great things are possible. And I am so proud to know the people actually doing them. Much love and congratulations to you all!
